Reddit game of thrones9/23/2023 ![]() ![]() dumbed down just to hurry plot to where it should be. Plot itself could be good if there was at least one scene of them actually doing something instead of asking themselves random questions.ĭaenerys plot was trying to be interesting with war strategies and seeing how they keep losing and winning on different battles. North plot was jut trying to trick fans that Arya and Sansa would hurt eachother. While north was afraid of them to devastate them during or after dead army attack. While north was begging for them to join their fight. Only interesting thing Lannister army did was. ![]() She was interesting character so long, last 3 seasons she was looking out of window with wine in her hand. There was no plot left in KingsLanding except cersei is the bad bad queen. Many characters became simpler to serve its own small storyline which just put whole combined story into 3 main groups. There was no more interesting characters added since that (Euron and that guy from Army without elephants. I think in season 6th whole world stopped to evolve. Having that come out of no where is a whiplash that really let down a lot, if not most, of the viewers. It would still feel like a cheap cop out, but it would at least provide the audience some expectation of what would happen. Having Sam discover that killing the Night King while he was studying as a maester would have been a reasonable way for him to explain this to the other characters and the audience, and as a bonus it would allow him to contribute to the final season, as well. It’s the only hint of any kind that was provided to the audience, and it’s an extremely weak one as it was provided much earlier in the series and was clearly referencing something else entirely. You can make an argument that Melisandre’s prophecy about Arya did that earlier, but it’s pretty clear that message was taken out of context and twisted to fit the White Walkers at a later date, as it is strongly implied to hint at Arya’s future as an assassin rather than to implicate that she would be the slayer of the WWs. I think a lot of people would have been willing to excuse that if there had been some kind of set up beforehand. No where did anyone mention that killing the Night King would wipe all of the White Walkers out and kill the Zombies, as well. ![]() The problem with 2 is that there was no explanation whatsoever leading up to it. Looking forward to seeing this event at the end of HOTD on screen!įor more info see the guide and policy. ![]() Standard posts without a spoiler tag will allow for all discussion excluding leaks and HOTD book spoilers.
